Dot & the Kangaroo Jr. is a new Australian musical with music by Daniel Mertzlufft, lyrics by Kate Leonard and libretto by Daniel Stoddart (JTF Australia Producer). Dot & the Kangaroo JR. will lead audiences on a beautiful journey into the world and spirit of Australia. Young, rambunctious Dot longs for an adventure exploring everything the country has to offer. When she finds herself lost and afraid in the darkening Australian bush, Dot befriends a wise kangaroo who enlists the help of Australia’s favourite bush creatures to help Dot find her way back home. It is a charming tale full of quirky Aussie-native characters. Dot & the Kangaroo JR. transforms the endearing story that transfixed past generations into a fresh, new adventure for generations to come.

Dot & the Kangaroo Jr. will be rehearsed in an intensive style format over one week. Performers are expected to arrive at the first rehearsal with the lines learned and be familiar with the song lyrics. “I loved the experience of playing the butler and one of the orphans in the Melb Kids Theatre production of Annie. It gave me an amazing foundation for performing on stage”.

~ Lili Tedesco, Performer

My daughter,  Sasha, had so much fun and formed beautiful friendships and memories with her Annie cast and crew. Melbourne Kids Theatre know how to put on a dazzling show in the shortest time and make it filled with fun and learning. Sasha's confidence soared from the experience and we are so excited they are back this school holidays with Frozen Jnr. Yay!
